The freedom of travelling with only a carry-on is hard to overstate. You walk off the plane and out the door. You never lose a bag. You move through a trip like water instead of luggage.

The rule of the shared palette

Everything you pack should mix with everything else. One colour family, a couple of neutrals, and suddenly six items make a dozen outfits. If a piece only works one way, it stays home.

Roll, don’t fold

Rolling saves space and cuts creases. Packing cubes turn chaos into a shelf you can lift out whole. The bag becomes a tiny, tidy wardrobe rather than an archaeological dig.

Pack for one week. You can do laundry. You cannot un-carry a heavy bag.

Wear the bulk

The heaviest shoes and the warmest layer go on your body, not in the bag. It’s the oldest trick and still the best one.

Lay out everything you think you need. Then remove a third. You won’t miss it — you’ll be too busy arriving.
